The Society of Mining Law Antiquarians is an organization of individuals interested in the history of mining law. Members include mining lawyers, college and university professors, miners, geologists and retired mining industry personnel. The Society holds one or more meetings annually, and publishes a newsletter, Dips, Angles & Spurs.

The Society has sponsored one international field trip in the past. In 2008 the Society joined with the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation to endow a fund for collection of mining law books and materials for the Russell L. and Lyn Wood Mining History Archive at the Arthur Lakes Library at the Colorado School of Mines.
